Technology Autobiography

Technology and animation in this day and age, are one in the same. Unless you are a traditional animator, which I personally prefer the technological approach to animation, however traditional animation is how it all started and therefore I believe it is a fundamental part when learning how to animate. I have had a year of experience in animation, and I have loved every minute of it. I am still only alright at flash and after effects, but I hope to get better at those as well as learn some 3d animation in Maya, and how to create a game with Unity. Technology means a lot to me, because much of my childhood was built around it, as I’m sure most American’s children’s lives are. Animation is also deep within the roots of my inner being, namely because of things such as Studio Ghibli’s amazing work, and the mega man, and Zelda games. Even to this day, I enjoy 2d animation the most, and I’m really interested in creating new games with innovative and smooth gameplay.

Growing up in a primarily 2d world in regards to animation anyways, I of course want to create amazing 2d pieces, however it is apparent that 3d animation and gaming has been dominating the market lately. This has led me to pursue many 3d projects, but I would still like to show my love for the things which I grew up with, and make some 2d projects along the way as well.

In the past I have created many animations that show my progressing skills, despite this my skills with all of the programs having to do with animation could still be greatly improved. I don’t think I can truly express all of the ideas and concepts in my head unless I become proficient in every program. I hope to have a great future with animation and I look forward to learning all I can.
